About Brad Dawber

Brad began his photo career in high school in Orange County , Calif.. His love of surfing inspired him to capture images along the southern California coastline. In 1972 he dropped out of college to take on the job of photographer and ad guy for Surfing Magazine, a dream job for a young surfer. In 1974 he moved to Mammoth Mt. to be a ski bum for one season. Surrounded by all this beauty and recreation made it difficult to leave. He quickly took to ski photography and became a ski photographer for Powder Magazine. At the same time he was working the ultimate dream job as a heli-ski guide. This gave him the best possible conditions to photograph. This came to an end in 1985 when he opened Mammoth Gallery where he created an ideal format for selling his landscape work. The gallery continues to this day and is the premier gallery in the Eastern Sierra.
Brad and his wife Pamela moved to Kauai in 2002 and opened the Nani Kauai Gallery in Princeville. Brad saw Kauai as a great potential for his fine art photography. His work is collected worldwide . Aerial photography has proven to be a specialty to Brad .
Most of his images are shot with a Pentax 645N medium format camera, using fine grain Velvia film. He is known as a purist with his colors and believes in real color, not falsely manipulated . He prints all of his work himself with an Epson wide format printer utilizing 200 year archival inks.
Brad is truly blessed to have made his career in a profession that brings so much joy to his clients and to himself.
